My parents came October 30, the day Brode turned two weeks old (and went to his first doctor's appointment). They stayed for five days and helped so much with taking care of Brode. Dad was a little restless in the house, so he raked our yard and fixed things at Dustin's mom's house next door. It was great to have them here.

My sister visited November 15-20. She flew into Duluth and we picked her up. She said she had not relaxed that much in 8 years (since her first son was born). I loved having her here to talk and visit and of course, watch Brode.

Dustin Arrows a Buck

Shot Friday, November 3, with an arrow on our property, around 4:30 p.m. I left Brode in the house with my mom and helped track the deer, but by the time Tony & I got there, Dustin and his dad had already found him and gutted him. We wrapped Brode up in camo (including his own little hat) and took him out for his first photo posed with a deer (he wasn't too happy about it)!

Sunday, November 19 - 2nd day of Deer Gun Season. 8 point buck shot around 10 a.m. This was a feisty deer, as it took more than two clips (10 shells) and three people (Dustin, his dad and our brother-in-law Tony) to get him down.

I probably said those words a hundred times in a few hours during my baby shower (I figured if I said it once, I had to keep it up so everyone would feel equal). Honestly, we received lots of great gifts and baby essentials and are very blessed to have friends and family to "shower" us with stuff ... and love.

Sunday, September 24, was my baby shower. Two great friends hosted a wonderful party attended by family and friends. The decorations, games, and food were great and we had a lot of fun.

Lovejoy Lake

Bill asked for a view from our "front yard" so here it is. I'm not sure this photo does it any justice, but I have just taken one with the leaves changing colors, so I'll post that later. It is an incredibly peaceful location, as it is a "quiet" lake, with no public access. The best way to navigate this lake is by canoe!

Dustin's dad Bill and his wife Karen on Bill's birthday, August 7, 2006. We enjoyed many pontoon rides to see the sunset with them this summer. This will remain as one of our favorite things to do in the wonderful, but short, summer season here in the Northwoods.

Packer Shutout

We traveled to Green Bay September 10 to see the Packers home opener. They lost to the Chicago Bears but it was still fun. It's a great stadium experience and we owe our friends the Burruss' for getting us tickets the last three years! (It helps that Pepper Burruss is the head athletic trainer for the Packers!)

This was taken June 24, 2006, at the end of 21 weeks - about 5 and a half months. The timing of this pregnancy is odd - like the weeks don't match up with the months, but I just keep saying I'm about 5 months along. (Due date is still Oct. 28) The black shirt is getting smaller... :-)

A Canada Snapper

Wilderness Bill will especially like this shot. Dustin & I spent five days in Canada, fishing for walleye and northern. We caught our limit in the three days of fishing and on the last day, this rather large turtle decided to see what we were serving for lunch. He really liked it when I put my red toenails in the water!

I traveled to Las Vegas in March for Betsy's birthday - a surprise to her! We had a great, although quick trip. This is in the amazing Bellagio Casino, where their lobby is always decorated in sculptures made of flowers.

Six Weeks ... I Think!

I will be posting photos for the next nine (or ten) months as a progression of my pregnancy, so here is #1. I don't have any makeup on and had wet hair, but I guess you can't really tell that. Things are going pretty well so far - just a little sickness. We have met with the nurse so far, but not the doctor yet. Going for our first ultrasound next Monday!

A March Blizzard!

This photo of my Jeep was taken around 1 p.m. today, after being at work about 3 hours - at least six inches of snow had fallen in that time. It took Dustin & I about 15 minutes to drive 2 miles here from home, and I was sideways in the road once. He drove home around 11 a.m. and there was about 16 inches of snow on the road - up to the wheel wells of the truck! I have never driven in snow as bad as it was this morning. It reminds me of the blizzard in Ohio in '79 (I think - I was young!). It's kinda fun to be stranded, but I wish I were at home, not work!
